Maeve Curran: I started writing poetry as an exercise in self healing and narrative medicine. I have extensively studied the efficacy of narrative medicine- that is, using writing as a way to work through trauma to reconcile your own story. I am in the medical field and have been a caregiver to others all my life, and write as a way to care for myself.
