"Soft"

I think softness is underrated-- there is strength in being soft. Many people overlook its virtue, but softness lends itself to empathy and kindness.

This poem was partially inspired by what I see doctors and medical students going through. Often they push themselves through 80 and 100 hour work weeks, giving up social and personal lives in order to help you on your darkest days. They have to have a certain softness to their souls in order to get into medicine, but you never see their broken bones, and never know the trauma they've had to go through to get where they are.
